The suspect arrested over the sexual harassment of a female tourist in Thirukkovil has been remanded until 28 November by the Pottuvil Magistrate.

The incident drew widespread attention after a video circulated on social media showing a man exposing himself to a young foreign woman travelling in a trishaw. The victim, a 24-year-old New Zealand national who arrived in Sri Lanka in September, lodged an email complaint with the Tourist Police Division on 15 November.

Investigations have revealed that the tourist was travelling from Arugam Bay to Pasikuda on 25 October when she encountered the suspect in Thirukkovil. He was arrested on 16 November.
