Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa says he will take part in the rally organised by the SLPP-led opposition on 21 November.

He made these remarks while speaking to the media after visiting the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy yesterday (18) to receive blessings on his birthday.

Commenting further, Rajapaksa said the public must unite against what he described as anti-people actions carried out by the current government.

He also claimed the government shows no regard for the Buddhist doctrine and added that the lack of transparency surrounding agreements signed with foreign countries remains a serious concern.
