SLAF Bell 212 Crashes in Wennappuwa During Relief Mission

A Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force, which was involved in disaster relief operations, has met with an accident, police stated.

The helicopter, deployed for relief activities in Wennappuwa–Lunuwila, has crashed into Gin Oya.

Four airmen were on board at the time of the incident. Two have been rescued, while a search-and-rescue operation is under way to locate the remaining two airmen.
