Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced significant amendments to its constitution following an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Friday (December 20), significantly reducing the total number of voting members from 147 to 60.

The new voting structure means that voting rights are determined solely by the level of cricket played by each member club, with all eligible clubs and associations entitled to only one vote. This marks a crucial step towards fair representation and formal decision-making.

Furthermore, the membership unanimously approved the establishment of the Audit Committee, the Investment and Budget Committee and the Related Party Transactions Committee to strengthen the transparency of financial management, the statement added.

Sri Lanka Cricket believes that these constitutional amendments will foster a culture of professionalism, transparency and merit, leading to the holistic development of cricket in Sri Lanka.

In addition to the above changes, the Nomination Committee for Sri Lanka Cricket for the year 2025 headed by retired Court of Appeal Judge Ms. Malani Gunaratne and four other members was also appointed at the Special General Assembly.

The Election Committee will oversee the preparations for the forthcoming elections of Sri Lanka Cricket to be held in 2025.
