A special search operation has been launched at the Kandy District Secretariat following a bomb scare that surfaced earlier today.

According to reports, both the Police and the Police Special Task Force (STF) have been deployed to the premises to conduct a thorough sweep of the building and its surrounding areas.

The security alert was triggered by an anonymous email sent to the office, claiming that an explosive device had been placed within the Secretariat.
