In an era where entrepreneurial success is often measured by revenue and rapid expansion, structural engineer and wellness entrepreneur Yasas Gunawardhana offers a markedly different perspective: that true success lies in peace of mind.

Speaking in a recent interview with Asian Mirror, Gunawardhana reflected on his journey of navigating entrepreneurship alongside personal development, stressing the importance of cultivating a growth mindset that extends beyond financial ambition. “Money alone does not define success,” he noted, arguing that sustainability in business is inseparable from mental clarity and emotional stability.

Gunawardhana is the Director of Aditya Ayurveda, a wellness brand that evolved from his father’s traditional Ayurvedic practice. He described the transition from a family-run medical service to a structured, modern enterprise as both a professional and personal challenge, underscoring the value of family collaboration, trust, and clearly defined roles.

He also highlighted the role of professional networks and mentorship in scaling a business responsibly, cautioning against isolation in leadership. According to Gunawardhana, surrounding oneself with the right people is not merely a strategic choice but a safeguard against poor decision-making and burnout.

The conversation extended into lifestyle discipline, with Gunawardhana outlining the habits he considers essential for long-term performance. These include structured morning routines, physical fitness, and deliberate management of emotional responses in high-pressure environments. He warned that unregulated stress and ego-driven leadership often result in toxic workplace cultures, ultimately undermining organisational growth.
