Sri Lanka Police has launched a new online initiative titled ‘Tell IGP’, enabling members of the public to submit complaints directly to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) on any incident or matter.

In a statement, the Police Media Division said the programme is already in operation and will be restructured and further strengthened in 2026.

The platform allows both local and foreign individuals to lodge complaints in Sinhala, Tamil, or English through an online system established for that purpose.

Through the service, the public can directly inform the IGP of information relating to organised crime, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities, both within Sri Lanka and overseas. Complaints concerning general offences, traffic violations, public harassment, and corruption are also accepted.

Upon receipt of a complaint, the relevant division notifies the appropriate police station, and investigation officers are assigned to take necessary action.

The statement further noted that if a complaint is not adequately addressed, the complainant may notify the IGP again through the same platform.

The service can be accessed via the official Sri Lanka Police website (www.police.lk) under the e-services portal, through the dedicated web address https://telligp.police.lk, or by email at telligp@police.gov.lk.
