The Court of Appeal has ordered that the writ petition filed by former Deputy Secretary-General of Parliament Chaminda Kularatne, challenging the decision to suspend him from service, be taken up for consideration on 18 March.
The petitioner has sought a writ order declaring that the decision to suspend him without conducting a fair inquiry is unlawful and invalid.
The petition was taken up today (3) before a bench comprising Court of Appeal President Judge Rohana Abeysuriya and Judge Priyantha Fernando. Chaminda Kularatne was also present in court.
After considering the preliminary submissions made by counsel for both parties, the bench decided to call the case again on 18 March to further examine the matters related to the petition.
