Govt requests private schools to close on Wednesdays

The Ministry of Education has requested private schools not to conduct classes on Wednesdays, which have been declared a public holiday.

The Government has also instructed that Government schools, tuition classes, and lectures should not be held on Wednesdays.

Commissioner General of Essential Services Prabath Chandrakeerthi said the decision had been taken in light of the prevailing fuel crisis.
