Founder of the Pathfinder Foundation Milinda Moragoda met with the Ambassador of China to Sri Lanka, Qi Zhenhong, to discuss avenues for strengthening cooperation between the Foundation and Chinese think tanks and academic institutions.
During the meeting, Moragoda briefed the Ambassador on the Foundation’s recent activities and outlined its proposal for a National Security Strategy – 2026, which was launched on 5 March.
He also noted that the Pathfinder Foundation is organising a series of programmes in collaboration with Chinese institutions. The first of these, the “China-Sri Lanka Maritime Cooperation Dialogue – 2026,” is scheduled to take place in the second week of May.
Preparations for the dialogue are currently underway in partnership with the China Centre for South Asian Studies at Sichuan University in Chengdu, under the China-Sri Lanka Cooperation Studies Centre of the Pathfinder Foundation.
Also present at the discussion were Third Secretary of the Embassy of China Jin Enze and Chairman of the Pathfinder Foundation Bernard Goonetilleke.
