Former SIS chief Suresh Sallay returned to CID after hospital treatment

Former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director, Major General (Retired) Suresh Sallay, who is currently in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), was taken back to the department after receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.

According to reports, Sallay had been admitted to hospital due to a sudden illness.

He is being questioned under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) in connection with ongoing investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks.

Sources further stated that Sallay was provided with special police security during his hospitalisation.
