Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has claimed that Sri Lanka is facing a serious economic risk situation.

He made the remarks during a meeting with social media activists held at the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) headquarters.

Premadasa alleged that the Government, led by the President, was misleading the public through “false statistics” instead of making people aware of the prevailing economic risks.

He further claimed that the Government continued to avoid speaking the truth while creating the impression that there were no major issues, even as prices of essential items such as fuel and milk powder increased.

According to Premadasa, rising fuel and milk powder prices reflect the economic risks facing the country, and the public should be made aware of the situation.
