Traffic on the Hatton–Colombo Main Road has returned to normal after an earthslip that obstructed the road in the Kuyilwatte area was cleared, police said.
The road was completely blocked at around 1.00 a.m. today (15) after earth and debris fell onto the roadway.
Authorities subsequently cleared the obstruction and reopened the road to vehicular traffic.
Police have advised motorists travelling through the area to exercise caution due to the risk of further earthslips.
Intermittent rainfall is continuing in the area.
