Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga maintained his impressive form to secure his fourth men’s javelin title at the Zurich leg of the Wanda Diamond League early today.
Tharanga sealed the victory with a throw of 92.07 metres in his final attempt. Former world champion Anderson Peters of Grenada finished second with 86.93 metres, while Poland’s Dawid Wegner placed third with a throw of 85.16 metres.
Tharanga currently leads the Diamond League standings with 39 points and is scheduled to compete in the final in Brussels, Belgium, on 5 September.
