Sri Lankans travelling abroad for the first time to take up jobs in Japan or Romania must register with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE), the bureau said.
The SLBFE said it had introduced a pre-departure training course for workers travelling to the two countries. Workers who have not completed the course will not be granted bureau registration.
The training lasts two days for those going to Japan and three days for those going to Romania. Workers can register for the mandatory course at any SLBFE branch office.
