Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Nawaloka Hospital in Colombo this morning (12) following a sudden heart-related condition.

According to sources close to him, the former President suddenly fell ill while he was at his residence in Kirulapone.

A team of specialist doctors is reportedly providing him with urgent medical treatment at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

It is further learnt that Rajapaksa had undergone several medical examinations over the past few days.
