SriLankan Airlines issued a statement dismissing reports that its information technology systems had been targeted by hackers as completely false.

The airline said it promptly launched comprehensive technical investigations and implemented precautionary measures after such an incident was reported on June 29.

According to the statement, technical assessments confirmed that there had been no unauthorized access to its internal information systems or operational networks, and no data theft or damage.

The airline said all services, including its email system and flight operations, continued to function normally without interruption.

It also stated that no party had demanded a ransom in Bitcoin, US dollars or any other form, and that no discussions had taken place regarding any such payment.

SriLankan Airlines reiterated that it categorically rejected all claims that hackers had gained control of its systems.
