Ven. Ulapane Sumangala Thera announced today (25) that the Satyagraha protest at Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo, demanding the release of Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera, had been temporarily suspended.

Speaking to the media this afternoon alongside monks participating in the protest, Sumangala Thera said the decision was taken after the Mahanayake Theras of the three Buddhist chapters informed them that they would intervene in efforts to secure Gnanasara Thera’s release.
