The Navy and Air Force have launched a search for a fishing vessel carrying four fishermen reported missing after leaving Kudawella in Matara, the Navy said.
The vessel set out on a fishing trip on 21 October. The fishermen last contacted its owner on 23 October, after which communication was lost.
The Navy said the owner had lodged a complaint after losing contact with the vessel. A search operation was subsequently launched with Air Force support.
Meanwhile, the Navy said search operations were continuing for another fishing vessel carrying three fishermen who went missing after setting out from Puthumathalan in Mullaitivu.
