Former Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara has denied any connection to his brother, who was recently arrested in relation to an alleged financial fraud. Nanayakkara stated that he was the first to lodge a complaint about financial scams involving promises of foreign employment.

Speaking to the media after an event at Sirikotha, Nanayakkara explained that he acted immediately upon learning of the fraudulent activities. He emphasized that families are made up of diverse individuals, and he could not be held responsible for the actions of others.

He urged the public to report any financial fraud related to foreign employment to the authorities, asserting that he had nothing to hide and would only fear being implicated if he had done something wrong.

Nanayakkara’s brother remains in remand custody in connection with the alleged fraud case.
