South Korean critics have arrested South Korea’s impeached President Yoon Suk-yeol on treason charges for briefly imposing martial law in a move soon to be carried out by the country’s National Assembly.
“The Joint Investigation Headquarters today [January 15] am. At 10:33 [GMT 01:30], President Yoon Suk-yeol executed an arrest warrant,” it said in a statement on Wednesday.
In a pre-recorded video message released after his arrest, Yoon says he decided to question him over his failed martial law because there was “bloodshed.”
