Candy-Mist, the latest addition to Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, is set to open its doors in the next few weeks, a senior company representative said.

The property, which expands the company’s footprint to the hilly capital of Kandy, will be ready to welcome guests by mid-February, Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts Deputy CEO Hishan Sinhawansa told Mirror Business.

According to Sinhawansa, due to the popularity of the Cinnamon brand, it saw pre-bookings in the weeks after its opening.

“The response is good; the feedback is good. We will start familiarization tours with all our partners very soon and once that is received, the bookings will start flowing in. But the optimism and interest we are getting from our partners is very good,” he said.

Mr. Sinhawansa expressed confidence that Kandy will be elevated as a tourist destination and will help it be perceived as a modern contemporary city instead of being known only for traditions.

Developed in partnership with Indra Traders, Kandy-Mist has 215 contemporary rooms, the largest inventory in the hill town.

The property also features 18 interconnected rooms designed for family groups and business travelers, an infinity rooftop pool, a café, a sky bar and dining options that include both buffet and a la carte cuisine.
