Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Chairman Ramal Siriwardena has resigned from his post.

Siriwardena was among the first chairpersons appointed by the newly elected National People’s Power (NPP) government to state institutions.

He is the second chairperson to resign, following the departure of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation Chairman Senesh Dissanayaka Bandara.

Siriwardena has not cited any specific reason for his resignation. However, speaking to BBC Sinhala, he stated that he stepped down due to personal reasons.

Attempts by Asian Mirror to contact him were unsuccessful.
