President to Unveil ‘GovPay’, Sri Lanka’s First Digital Govt Payment System

The first step in the digitalisation of government services, GovPay, will be officially launched under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on 7 February 2025, the President’s Media Division (PMD) announced today (3 February).

This initiative aims to modernise and streamline government transactions by providing a secure and efficient digital payment platform. GovPay will enable seamless transactions across government institutions, enhancing accessibility and efficiency in public service payments, the PMD further said.
