Beach Cleanup Campaign Kicks Off Today Under “Clean Sri Lanka” Initiative

The inauguration of the program “A Beautiful Beach, An Attractive Tourist Destination” will take place today, February 9, as part of the national ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ initiative.

Led by the Presidential Secretariat, the beach cleanup campaign will begin at Crow Island Beach in Mattakkuliya, with Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya presiding over the event. Participants will include government and private institutions, non-governmental organizations, and local communities.

In addition to the launch event, similar cleanup efforts are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 124 other locations across the Western and Southern Provinces.
