Who Gets the Biggest Slice of Rs 1.4 Trillion Vote on Account?

The Vote on Account for the first four months of 2025 reveals an allocation of nearly Rs 1,402 billion (Rs 1.4 trillion) for running state affairs and continuing ongoing projects. Among the ministries, the Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation has received the largest allocation, amounting to Rs 220.06 billion (Recurrent + capital expenditure).

The breakdown of allocations to other key ministries is as follows:

  • Rs 186.02 billion for the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development,
  • Rs 170.47 billion for the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government,
  • Rs 161.99 billion for the Ministry of Health and Mass Media,
  • Rs 142.95 billion for the Ministry of Defence.
  • Rs 92 billion for the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education, and
  • Rs 67.36 billion for the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands, and Irrigation.
