The Chief Prelates of the Asgiriya and Malwathu Chapters, along with the Sri Dalada Maligawa, have announced in a joint statement that the Siri Dalada Wandanawa—the special exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic—was successfully concluded.

The statement highlights that this rare exposition, held after 16 years, was made possible following a request from President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha was placed on public exposition for ten consecutive days, from 18 April to 27 April, at the Sri Dalada Maligawa. Thousands of devotees, both local and foreign, visited the temple to pay homage during this period.

The Chief Prelates and the Sri Dalada Maligawa expressed their deep satisfaction with the successful completion of the exposition. They also conveyed their immense gratitude to all those who contributed to organising what they described as the largest pilgrimage gathering in the country’s history.

The joint statement was signed by Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangalabidhana Mahanayake Thero, Most Venerable Warakagoda Dhammasiddhi Sri Pagghananda Gnanarathanabidhana Mahanayake Thero, and the Diyawadana Nilame of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, Pradeep Nilanga Dela Bandara.
