The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has ordered that the case filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act against former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son, Yoshitha Rajapaksa, and his aunt, Daisy Forrest, be recalled on 11 July.

The case was taken up today (16), with both Yoshitha Rajapaksa and Daisy Forrest appearing before the court.

President’s Counsel Sampath Mendis, appearing on behalf of the suspects, informed the court that the Attorney General has already filed indictments before the Colombo High Court against the accused in relation to the matter.

Taking this submission into consideration, the Magistrate ordered the case to be recalled on 11 July and stated that the court would examine the relevant request on that date.
