A shooting has reportedly taken place a short while ago targeting the vehicle of Thusitha Halloluwa, the former Director General of Public Relations for ex-President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Dabare Mawatha in Narahenpita, Colombo, while Halloluwa was returning from the residence of President’s Counsel Anuja Premarathna. Two individuals on a motorcycle had intercepted the vehicle and opened fire.

Attorney Dinesh Dodangoda was also reportedly in the vehicle at the time of the attack and has sustained injuries.

Police officers from the Narahenpita Police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and had taken steps to hospitalise Thusitha Halloluwa, according to reports.

Update: 10.30 p.m.
According to the Police, Halloluwa hasn’t sustained injuries. However, the attackers have taken away a file in Halloluwa’s vehicle.

Investigations into the incident have been handed over to the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) on the orders of the Acting IGP.
