A woman working in Italy has been arrested in Manakkulama, Madampe, after allegedly flying back to Sri Lanka to hunt for hidden treasure—on the advice of her late father, who reportedly revealed the location to her in a dream.

She was among five individuals taken into custody during a police raid, along with a stockpile of treasure-hunting equipment. According to police, the group had gathered in the area to unearth a supposed treasure buried underground.

The suspects are scheduled to be produced before the Chilaw Magistrate’s Court, while further investigations are underway by the Madampe Police.
