The Colombo High Court has scheduled a pre-trial conference for 27 June in the case against Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa, who is accused of receiving Rs. 70 million from the ‘Krrish’ group and committing criminal breach of trust.

The case was taken up today before High Court Judge Pradeep Abeyratne.

Deputy Solicitor General Wasantha Perera, appearing for the prosecution, informed the court that some of the documents requested by the defence would be submitted in open court during proceedings. He added that certain documents would be provided through the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), while others would be made available at a later date.

President’s Counsel Sampath Mendis, representing Rajapaksa, stated that the defence would present its position once all requested documents have been received.
