Teen Motorcyclist Arrested After Fatal Pedestrian Crash

A 19-year-old has been arrested following a fatal accident along the Trincomalee–Ambepussa road in Anandakulam, Trincomalee, police said.

The incident occurred last night (17) when a motorcycle travelling from Trincomalee towards Anandakulam struck a pedestrian who was crossing at a pedestrian crossing.

The pedestrian, a 56-year-old resident of Anandakulam, sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead upon admission to the Trincomalee Hospital. His body is currently at the hospital morgue.

The Uppuveli Police are continuing investigations into the incident.
