Kalani Athukorala was named the first runner-up at the Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2025 pageant, held at Shangri-La Colombo on 27 July. In addition to her placement, she also received two mini titles — “Miss Talent” and “Best Skin.”

Kalani is a marketing professional, visiting lecturer, and singer. Commenting on the experience, she described the pageant as a meaningful journey that helped her form lasting friendships and gain valuable personal growth.

She stood out during the talent segment, which earned her the “Miss Talent” title, and was also recognised for her appearance and skin health with the “Best Skin” title.

Kalani said her participation was motivated by a desire to represent Sri Lanka positively. “Being part of Miss Universe Sri Lanka has given me the opportunity to make my country proud,” she said.

She also highlighted the importance of using platforms like pageants to inspire others, particularly young women, to pursue their goals and express themselves confidently.

With this recognition, Kalani hopes to continue contributing to social causes and serve as a role model, particularly in areas such as women’s empowerment and youth engagement.
