The Colombo High Court has issued notice to consider a revision petition filed by former Minister Rajitha Senaratne, seeking an order to suspend the arrest warrant issued against him by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.

President’s Counsel Kalinga Indatissa, appearing for Senaratne, informed court that his client would comply with the notice issued by the Magistrate’s Court, requiring him to appear tomorrow (29).

Senaratne’s lawyers had also requested a temporary interim order to suspend the execution of the warrant until the petition is heard. However, the High Court declined to grant such an order and instead issued notice only to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

The High Court scheduled further consideration of the petition for 10 September.
