The Department of Examinations has released the district-wise cut-off marks for the 2025 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination, following the announcement of results last night (3).

Accordingly, the Sinhala medium cut-off mark for the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Matale, Galle, Matara, Kurunegala, and Kegalle districts is 140, while the Tamil medium cut-off mark is 134.

For Ratnapura District, the Sinhala medium cut-off is 136, and the Tamil medium cut-off is 132. In Hambantota District, the cut-off marks are 135 for Sinhala medium and 132 for Tamil medium.

In Badulla and Monaragala districts, the Sinhala medium cut-off is 134 and Tamil medium cut-off is 132, while in Ampara, Trincomalee, Puttalam, Anuradhapura, and Polonnaruwa districts, the Sinhala medium cut-off is 133 and Tamil medium cut-off is 131.

The cut-off mark for both Sinhala and Tamil mediums in Nuwara Eliya District is 132. In Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, and Batticaloa districts, the Sinhala medium cut-off is 127 and Tamil medium cut-off is 132. For Mannar District, the cut-off marks are 127 (Sinhala medium) and 131 (Tamil medium). In Jaffna District, the Tamil medium cut-off mark is 132.

This year’s Grade 5 Scholarship Examination was held on 10 August, with 308,026 students applying and 303,670 sitting for the exam. Of them, 51,969 students scored above the cut-off marks.

Results can be accessed via the official websites of the Department of Examinations at www.doenets.lk or www.results.exams.gov.lk by entering the correct index number. Candidates can also download and print their results sheet.

In addition, school principals can download the results records for their schools from today (4) using the usernames and passwords provided. Certificates for qualified candidates will be sent to schools by post after the appeals process is completed.
