Veteran Actor Nalin Pradeep Udawela Passes Away

Veteran actor Nalin Pradeep Udawela has passed away, hospital sources confirmed. He was receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the Apeksha Hospital at the time of his demise.

Udawela, a versatile actor admired by audiences across the country, showcased his talent on stage, in cinema, and in television dramas, earning widespread popularity and critical acclaim.

He began his acting career in theatre, contributing to several iconic stage plays including Andarela, Jury, Kelani Palama, Mandela, Modara Mola, Mee Harak, Sewaneli Eda Minissu, Hunuwataye Kathawa, and Suddek Oba Amathai. His powerful character portrayals earned him numerous accolades in the field of stage drama.

Udawela also left a lasting impression in television and cinema. He acted in more than 30 popular teledramas such as Paba, Wasanthaya Awilla, Diya Ginisilu, Makulu Del, Sadgunakari, Ridi Ittankare, and Kolam Kuttama. His film credits include Julietge Bhumikawa, Rajya Sewaya Pinisai, Aswesuma, Tharaka Mal, Asai Mang Piyabanna, Walapatala, Parawarthana, Muthu Salaba, Madhura Charika, and Sangili, balancing both artistic and commercial cinema.

Apart from his artistic career, Nalin Pradeep Udawela also served as a member of the Western Provincial Council for a period of time.
