Theripaha Siridhamma Thera today (8) began a hunger strike at around 1:00 p.m. in front of the D.S. Senanayake statue outside the Carlton House in Tangalle.
The monk is protesting the withdrawal of security from former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and is urging that security be reinstated not only for him but also for other former presidents.
