AkzoNobel Opens In India

AkzoNobel says it has today opened a new production facility at Thane, India, to manufacture coatings for the metal packaging and flexible packaging industries. The plant involved an investment of €1.8 million ($2.45 million) and it will mainly serve markets in India, Bangladesh,

Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asia, AkzoNobel says. The plant has a production capacity of 5000 m.t./year and will produce a range of products including specialized coatings for food and beer cans, internal and external coatings for caps and closures, and water-borne external coatings.
