Japanese Delegation To Visit Lanka

The Minister of Economic Development and the Minister of Environment & Renewable Energy will host the Japan-Sri Lanka Parliamentary League. The delegation is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka by the end of July 2014.

A visit of this nature and stature from Japan would further strengthen and deepen the bilateral and economic relations, in all spheres, between the two countries. During the three-day visit the delegation would call on President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The delegation would be led by the President of the League, Masahiko Komura, who is also the Vice President of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party [LDP] of Japan and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Secretary-General, Yuko Obuchi, the former Cabinet Minister and Senior Vice Minister for Finance, too would be in the delegation. The 12 member delegation would consist of senior Parliamentarians and political leaders of the Government of Japan. Ambassador Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda, Ambassador of Japan has played a key role in organisng the event.
