M/V ‘ASTORIA BRIDGE’ On Maiden Call To Colombo Port

Japanese carrier ‘K’ Line container vessel M/V ‘ASTORIA BRIDGE’ called her main voyage to the Port of Colombo on February 11, 2015.

M/V ‘ASTORIA BRIDGE’ joined the INDFEX1 service (INDIA FAR EAST EXPRESS SERVICE) from December 2014 and she performed her maiden call to the Colombo International Container Terminal (CICT), together with the accumulation of 1600 movements.

Wasantha Talalgala, Managing Director expressing his optimism stated that they would increase the transshipment volumes via Colombo in order to entitle for the Port rebate which would benefit his principals in Tokyo.

Roshan Dissanakaye explained that his vision and the target are to provide stable and reliable service to all its customers over the year and thanked all their customers for the patronage. He also anticipates more services to follow this year in order to service the ABC Shipping client base during this year.

General Manager ABC Shipping, Tressel Silva said that their principal is to also engage in a fleet upgrade and would deploy four brand new container vessels with the capacity of 12000T for Asia and Europe services from March 2015. He added that their principal (‘K’ Line) will be joining with another reliable partner for a Europe service during March 2015.
