'Strangers 2015' Of USJP Is Something More Than Management Theories ; Dr Anura Kumara

Dr. U. Anura Kumara, the dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce of University of Sri Jayewardenapura congratulated Department of Marketing Management over the huge success achieved by the department within a short period of establishing.
 
Speaking about the event ‘Strangers 2015’ which is scheduled to be held, he further stated that the event can be considered as a huge step taken by the Department of Marketing Management of USJP in order to develop both personal skills and attitudes of students of faculty.
 
“To be a successful individual in the competitive business world we can see today, fluency of management theories is not enough. Students must develop their personal attitudes and skills as well. I can see the Department of Marketing Management guides our students towards that goal in a very unique manner,” he said. 
 
'Strangers' is an event by the Department of marketing Management of USJP exclusively for the 1st year students of the Faculty with the prime objective of creating a friendly bond with the fresh blood, making them familiar with the University life, and most importantly, building mental and physical fitness in them by letting them face challenges as a team, and also to take instant decisions suitable to various unexpected circumstances.
 
The first ‘Strangers’ was initiated by the Department of Marketing Management back in 2013 and in 2015 the department is going to revolutionize the history of University events by holding the program as third concecutive attempt with the support of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau. Participants from several foreign universities will also join with 'Marketing Team' in this year, an organizer told Asian Mirror.
