"Full House" Star Song Hye-kyo Makes Surprise Wedding Announcement

Song Hye-kyo who starred in "Full House", the famouse 2004 South Korean television series is to get married fellow South Korean actor Song Joong-ki. The onscreen couple of KBS hit drama series “Descendants of the Sun” will soon be married in real life according to Korea Herald. Early on Wednesday, Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo announced plans to wed on October 31, through a joint statement issued by their management agencies.

Pan-Asia hit drama "Descendants of the Sun" gained popularity across Asia. Further it received several nominations at the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards where its leads won Popularity and Global Star Awards, and was awarded the Grand Prize in Television.

Song Joong-ki a top Hallyu star, placed 7th in Forbes Korea Power Celebrity list in 2013, and ranked 2nd in 2017.

In 2017, Song Hye-kyo ranked 7th in Forbes magazine's Korea Power Celebrity list. The success of Song's television dramas internationally established her as a top "Hallyu star".

"Full House" drama was a great success in Asia and helped propel the Hallyu Wave. It also well received in Sri Lanka. Rain the male lead of the drama married South Korean actress Kim Tae-hee married on January 19, 2017.
