The controversial documentary "India's Daughter" — focussing on the Nirbhaya case including interviews with the rapist — has been available on YouTube since Thursday morning despite the Government's claims on securing a "court injunction" barring its telecast across media platforms.
Since morning, the documentary -- aired on BBC Four at 22:00 hrs on Wednesday for U.K. only — could be accessed online in India; raising questions about the effectiveness of a ban in the Information Age.
On Wednesday, the Government had informed both Houses of Parliament that a court injunction had been secured to prevent its telecast across media platforms in the country and diplomatic channels were being tapped to ensure it does not go on air globally either.
The BBC - which had earlier planned to air the documentary on International Women's Day on March 8 -- advanced its telecast by four days.
