UK Election 2015: Nick Clegg Quits As Liberal Democrat Leader

Former United Kingdom Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg quit as the leader of Liberal Democratic Party after a crushing defeat in the UK election.

As results came in, it was obvious that the party had fared extremely badly. More than 300 candidates have lost their deposit, signalling utter demolition of the party throughout the country.

BBC predicted that Liberal Democratic Party would win only 8 seats, less than the predictions before the election.

Clegg's resignation came minutes after UKIP leader Nigel Farage announced his resignation as party leader.
