UK Labour Party leader Ed Miliband resigned as party leader, becoming the third major party leader to resign after election results were announced.
While Labour was never predicted to defeat the Conservatives, the election result was a setback to the party.
Labour will win less than 250 seats in the parliament.
"I take absolute and total responsibility for the result" Miliband said in a news conference a short while ago. "I'm so sorry" for those who've lost seats, he added.
