MH179 Rowdy Passenger Gets 1-month Jail For Endangering Crew

German businessman Dietmar Ross is jailed a month by the Sepang Sessions Court for endangering the crew of Colombo-bound Mas flight MH179, which was forced to turn back to KLIA on Saturday.

Judge Aizatul Akmal Maharani passed the sentence on the married 54-year-old resident of Bali, Indonesia, when the passenger pleaded guilty to endangering cabin crew member Phuah Soh Kin, 47.

Ross committed the offence during the flight from Kuala Lumpur to Colombo, Sri Lanka, at 11.45pm on May 9, 2015.

Deputy public prosecutor Uma Devi Balasubramaniam prosecuted while counsel Zaflee Pakwanteh acted for Ross.
