Actress Gayathri Dias has issued a statement through her official Facebook account responding to social media allegations linking her to the underworld figure “Kehelbaddara Padme.”
Addressing the criticism and accusations directed at her, Dias stated that if she is guilty of anything, it is simply of being an artist. She also expressed the emotional pain she endures as a woman and criticised the harsh social judgments that, in her words, operate “like Sharia law.”
In her Facebook post, Gayathri Dias wrote:
“Though I don’t remember my past lives, I feel that every one of them must have been more painful than this one. Despite the hardships I face now, I cannot abandon life. I don’t understand how fate works. I don’t know how many more sleepless nights await me. I question myself — whether I am right or wrong — while society throws stones at me, using its own form of ‘Sharia law.’ Since childhood, I have faced trials and loneliness that have yet to end. I cannot sleep. If I am guilty of anything, it is of being an artist.”
Meanwhile, actress Srimali Fonseka was summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday (27) over allegations of having a connection with “Kehelbaddara Padme.” Speaking to the media afterward, Fonseka firmly denied all accusations.
Similarly, actress Heshani Liyadipita also released a video statement rejecting claims circulating on social media about her alleged involvement with the same individual. She clarified that as an actress, she often meets various people at public events but does not personally know everyone she encounters.
