The Colombo Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar today (6) ordered that the pre-trial conference in the case concerning the purchase of substandard immunoglobulin for the Health Ministry’s Medical Supplies Division using state funds will commence on 26 November.

The Attorney General has filed charges against former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and 11 others over the alleged procurement.

The case was taken up before the three-judge bench comprising Priyantha Liyanage, Viraj Weerasooriya and Tilaka Ratnabandara.

When the matter was called, President’s Counsel Sarath Ekanayake, appearing for the second accused, Kapila Wickramanayake, sought permission for his client to sit an examination scheduled this morning at the Open University in Nawala.

The court granted the request.
