The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) filed the indictments, which allege Rambukwella failed to account for assets valued at over Rs. 296 million. The case, filed under the Anti-Corruption Act, covers a period between 1 January 2022, and 14 November 2023, when he served as his father’s private secretary.

Appearing before Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihal, the accused was ordered to be released on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and two surety bails of Rs. 1 million each.

The court also directed that Ramith Rambukwella’s fingerprints be recorded and a report submitted.
