A popular singer accused of possessing and circulating an explicit video of his wife on social media admitted to the offence yesterday (20) before Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama.

The admission was made when the complaint filed by the suspect’s wife with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was taken up in court.

Investigators told the court that the suspect, a popular singer who had been married for more than 10 years, is now separated from the complainant.

The Chief Magistrate ordered that the case be recalled on 19 December.
